26-27 High School CLC Permission Form

2026-2027 School Year

High School Permission Form

Dear Parent or Guardian,

You are receiving this letter because your student is enrolled in a class at the Gilmer Christian Learning Center (CLC). This class is different in several ways from other classes at Gilmer High School. The most significant differences are:

• The class is not held at Gilmer High School (GHS), but at the Christian Learning Center (CLC). CLC provides transportation to and from the CLC facility using CLC vehicles and qualified drivers. The CLC facility is located nearby, just down the hill on Bobcat Trail before you get to the Larry Walker Building.

• The subject matter presented in class is from a Biblical perspective. Students will study the Bible and its stories, and the Bible is used as the primary textbook. Students may take CLC up to four times during high school. Each class is designed to help students understand and know God, while addressing topics relevant to students’ lives and helping prepare them for their future. All instruction is taught from a Christian worldview with the Bible as the standard. Students will participate in discussions, presentations, group projects, appropriate video clips, and voluntary prayer. A Bible is provided at no cost for use during class and students are welcome to bring a Bible from home.

• Upon completion of class requirements, your student will receive elective credit for the class. CLC does not seek to force beliefs on students. Classes include open discussions about the claims of the Bible, and students are encouraged to think critically and make their own decisions about what they believe. We respect each student’s right to hold their own views and expect all students to extend that same respect to others.

CLC is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit and receives no funding from the government or the school system. If you are inclined, we invite you to pray for the students and this ministry and to consider supporting CLC with your tax-deductible contributions.
