Gilmer CLC's Run for the son 5k

Welcome to our Run for the Son site! The Run for the Son 5K is a yearly fundraiser the CLC hosts to help keep our ministry up and going so we can minister to students in Gilmer County. It is a USATF Certified course through historic downtown Ellijay. In 2010 the CLC hosted its first Run for the Son 5K! It was such a success that we have continued hosting the 5K every year now for almost 15 years! During 2020, the CLC successfully hosted its first virtual Run for the Son due to coronavirus.  With the Run for the Son becoming a well-known 5K in the North Georgia mountains, our race normally hosts 200-350 runners and supporters.  Each year we award two of our teams with our Cup of Legends and Cup of Champions! Our teams compete to register the most runners for the Cup of Champions and the most participants total for our Cup of Legends.  If you don’t like to run, you can still participate by cheering on your favorite runner or register as a Phantom Runner! Everyone is welcome to come!
