2021 Run for the Son Virtual 5K
After thoughtful deliberation regarding the health and safety of everyone, we have decided to make our Run for the Son 5K virtual again this year. A virtual 5K is unique in that you can run or walk the 3.1 miles when and wherever you want. You can participate individually or as a team. Each year, we award the team with the most registrants the Cup of Legends, and the team with the most participants receives the Cup of Champions. Don’t like to run? Why not be a phantom runner? A phantom runner is someone who registers and receives the same perks as a participant but does not run the race. We also offer sponsorship opportunities. Whether you choose to sponsor, run the race, or become a phantom runner, know we are extremely grateful for your support, and our ministry could not continue to reach hundreds of middle and high school students with the Gospel if it was not for you!
Run for the sOn 5K
Welcome to our Run for the Son site! The Run for the Son 5K is a yearly fundraiser the CLC hosts to help keep our ministry up and going so we can minister to students in Gilmer County. In 2005, the CLC hosted its first Run for the Son 5K! It was such a success that we have continued hosting the 5K every year now for almost 15 years! During 2020, the CLC successfully hosted its first virtual Run for the Son due to coronavirus. With the Run for the Son becoming a well-known 5K in the North Georgia mountains, our race normally hosts 200-350 runners and supporters. Each year we award two of our teams with our Cup of Legends and Cup of Champions! Our teams compete to register the most runners for the Cup of Champions and the most participants total for our Cup of Legends. If you don’t like to run, you can still participate by cheering on your favorite runner or register as a Phantom Runner! Everyone is welcome to come!
