Teachers’ Note

As the 2018-2019 school year comes to a close, we are so thankful for all the Lord has done during our classes in the past ten months. Last month, we shared some thoughts from Mrs. Jessi and Mrs. Kristin. This month, we are excited to share two more reflections on the last school year with you.

CLC is so much more than a job for me. It is an investment in eternity with the potential of never-ending returns. I think of the lives of so many students (and those they lead to the Lord) who will shape the world forever because of this ministry. That is what it’s all about. This semester has been a challenging one in some ways. But it also has been distinctly rewarding.

I have been met with the deepest appreciation for CLC by some and an unchecked enthusiasm for the Lord by others. As always, many students are silently worked upon by the Spirit and perhaps the fruit will not be seen by me (at least not now). In any event, God has been faithful to me and has surprised me with the impact made, even when I feel like I am falling short.

So, what can you do? Keep praying! Every student (as well as myself) encounters spiritual battles daily. We need the strength your intercession provides for us and please know that the power of the Lord through your prayers is already at work and being felt. Thank you so much for the part you play in the grand plan of salvation taking place both in and outside of the CLC ministry!

Hi everyone, my name is Sherri Gifford and I have had the honor and privilege of sharing Jesus with 5th and 6th graders at the CLC this year. My heart is to share with my students who the Bible says Jesus is and as a Christian, who we are in Christ. I want them to know that they know that as a child of God, God now sees Jesus when He sees us, as we are now the righteousness of God in Christ. God loves us unconditionally and His Love never changes!

The more we understand how much God loves us the more we can naturally love others. The Bible says we love because God first loved us, and that Jesus is love and the light of the world. Because Jesus lives in us, God gives us the extreme honor of partnering with Him to shine Christ’s love, joy and peace to a dark world that desperately needs us to shine the love of Jesus to them.

God has begun an amazing work in the lives of our precious students at the CLC, and He is faithful to complete what he starts. Together we are reaching our schools, community and the world for the Glory of Christ Jesus.

May His Kingdom come and His will be done in Gilmer County and beyond, as it is in heaven through the CLC and our students. Shine!
